Crocheted Barefoot Sandals

A few weeks ago one of my fellow crafting mommas saw some very pretty crocheted sandals that she wanted to recreate, and she was able to! She had never written a pattern before so instead she made a YouTube video.

I translated the video into a written pattern for your enjoyment. I take no credit in this pattern, it was designed by Adrienne Davis, I just followed what she said and wrote it in American Crochet terms that we can all follow.

Here is the written pattern for Adrienne's Crochet Barefoot Sandals. I hope you enjoy!

Materials:
* Aunt Lydia's Crochet Thread Size 3
* E (US 3.50) Hook

KEY:
Sl St: Slip Stitch
CH: Chain
SC: Single Crochet

Special Stitches:
Cluster Stitch: Yarn over, insert hook into indicated stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop,
yarn over and pull through two loops, yarn over and insert hook into same stitch,
yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through two loops,
yarn over and insert hook into same stitch again, yarn over and pull through two loops,
yarn over and pull through remaining four loops.

Sandal Pattern.
DIRECTIONS:

CH 104
Step 1: Sl St in 4th CH from hook (this creates a ring for your first flower), CH 1, SC 12 into ring.

Step 2: Sl St in first SC, Sl St again in the next 6 SC,
(you do this so that your beginning CH is across from you)

SC into the same st as your last Sl St, *CH 2, cluster stitch in next st, CH 2, SC into next st*, repeat around from * to *.

After your 3rd petal you want to Sl St around your CH of 100, this makes so the flower will lay flat against your foot.

Continue making your petals until you have 6. After your last CH 2, Sl St into the first SC.

Step 3: CH 9, Sl St in 4th CH from hook, CH 1, SC 12 into ring

Step 4: Repeat Step 2 to create another flower.

Step 5: Repeat the previous 2 steps until you have 3 flowers total

Step 6: CH 9, Sl St in 4th CH from hook, CH 1, SC 12 into ring

Step 7: Sl St in the next 9 sts, SC into the same st as your last Sl St, *CH 2, cluster stitch in the next st, CH 2, SC in next st*, repeat from * to *.

After your 2nd petal Sl St around your CH 9 to keep everything straight and repeat your petals until you have 6.

Step 8: Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until you have 3 more flowers

Step 9: CH 100 and fasten off

Toe Flower
Step 10: Turn your sandal so that it is facing you. Join thread to the middle flower in the base of the flower, not the top, with a Sl St (it’ll pull down into the middle)

Step 11: CH 9, Sl St in 4th CH from hook, CH 1, SC 12 into ring

Step 12: SC into the first SC, *CH 2, cluster stitch in next st, CH 2, SC into next st*, repeat around from * to *.

After your 3rd petal you want to Sl St into next SC instead of SC, CH 15, Sl St into the same st as you started (this makes the toe loop).

*CH 2, cluster stitch in next st, CH 2, SC into next st*, repeat around from * to * until you have 6 petals all together.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

I think these are so pretty and I have been looking everywhere for a pattern close to this with hearts. I think maybe we can change this just a bit to make it work. I cross my fingers and thank you for sharing.

Jordan, I would just make more of the flowers. Just a little longer.

Jordan, I was going to reply when I got your comment but was hit with this stomach bug. Yes, I would just add some more flowers for a longer sandal.

Jonathan, Crochet, & Pikachu

Today would have been Jonathan's 27th birthday, my little brother, but sadly, he is not here with us anymore. On April 18, 2015 he past way from kidney failure due to improper care of diabetes. He wasn't quite 25. He had so much life yet to live but I guess it was time for him to go. When we were kids he was my best little buddy, we would listen to rock music, he introduced me to Disturbed and System of a Down, and he tried to get me to like the screaming music he called metal. I never understood his love of the pig squeal but he sure did. He was also the one that I knew would go with me to see the new, weird independent films that came out. I never did get to take him to Sundance, he would have enjoyed that, but we did have some great discussions about movies and actors. And then when I was 21 I moved to Arkansas and left my sister and brother behind and I started a new life with my husband so Jonathan's and my relationship changed. He was still always there to ta
