Bridgett Cowl Crochet Pattern


Meet Bridgett! She is a perfectly simple yet elegant cowl that every lady needs on a cold winter morning. I believe I'm in love with this pattern and I wanted to share it with you!

MATERIALS:
2 Skeins of Super Bulky Yarn #6
P/15 11.5mm Crochet Hook
(3) 1.5 inch Buttons
Measuring Tape 
Scissors 
Yarn Needle 

YARN NOTES:
For the cowl pictured I used Lion Brand's Wool Ease Thick & Quick Super Bulky Yarn in Grey Marble.

GAUGE:
For this pattern it's not necessary, you can just use a tape measure to get the size you need.

BRIDGETT COWL PATTERN 

Row 1: Foundation Single Crochet or chain until it measures 40 inches (101.5 cm) and SC in 2nd chain down.
Row 2: CH 2 and turn, DC (double crochet) in each stitch across
Row 3: CH 1 and turn, HDC (half double crochet) in each stitch across

Repeat Rows 2 & 3 until the piece measures 10 inches (25.5 cm) making sure to end on the DC row. 
Ch 1 and turn, SC in each stitch across.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Sew your buttons on the long side about 2 inches (5cm) apart. Fold the opposite short end over and close cowl using the space between stitches to pull buttons through.

Do the turning chains count as the first stitch of the next row?

The beginning chains do not count as the first stitch.

Jonathan, Crochet, & Pikachu

Today would have been Jonathan's 27th birthday, my little brother, but sadly, he is not here with us anymore. On April 18, 2015 he past way from kidney failure due to improper care of diabetes.
